Happy Festivus!

Festivus for the rest of us. Happy Holidays to all. Whether you're a believer or not, you get a few days off to savor the season with family and friends, so whatever you may be doing or whomever you may be with, enjoy.

My tip of the season? Never pass up an opportunity for laughter. Even if you've missed the conversation that preceded the laughter, if you catch others laughing, go ahead and laugh. Life is short and you can never laugh too much, in my opinion.

Thanks, TP. As a cured JW myself (pre -1975), I still have a little trouble with this time of year. I grew up in a mixed household, half JW, half Baptist (!!), so needless to say this was a dreadful time of year for me, and I still have a lot of anxiety and have to bow out of many holiday activities when it gets to be too much. That is very hard to explain to people.

I got weepy during your recent Irreli - irr, ?(you know) podcast. Thanks very much for it. What an eye opener! It brought back memories, though I never had to go through what you experienced. Wishing you peaceful holidays from a total stranger in Nashville. Cheers.

Thank you Weston. I'm a little teary-eyed reading your comment. There's a lot of us out there, aren't there? It's bittersweet really. Glad we're out now but sad that we even had to go through it at all.

I get the holiday anxiety. I'm not sure Christmas, birthdays and all the other stuff I missed as a JW will ever mean much to me. And yes, it's hard to explain to people. I've given up trying. I just write about it here and hope someone like yourself will chime in and say, "Yes, me too." So thank you for honoring me with your presence and comments here.

Cheers to you as well, fellow journeyer.
