Muse

God is dead.

One day,
I shall die as well.

This body
Fails me at every turn
This mind
Wanders aimlessly without rest.

There are no illusions left
But one,
The muse,
My love.

His name is written upon my heart
And no amount of reason
Can erase its form.

Forgive me this indulgence
One cannot live without a dream
Without one foot in the clouds.

I can do nothing but surrender to love
Again and again
Surrender to love;
All the days of my life
There will always be this,
This one
To him I belong.

It cannot be otherwise.
